We are a welcoming, family run hotel built on tradition and genuine hospitality. Caring for families is at the heart of everything we do: a family hotel not just by name, but in spirit. Here, every guest feels at ease, with the comforting feeling of having stepped into a “home away from home.”
”
Everything began with Uncle Angelo, born in 1945, our true pioneer. During a time of great change for Andalo, Angelo saw a future in the beauty of this land and, in 1983, founded a small family-run hotel.
The hotel was built on what was once a cabbage field, during the years of economic growth. The land was inherited by the founder, Angelo Dalfovo (Uncle Angelo), who built the original structure with his own hands, helped by local craftsmen.
When it opened in December 1983, the hotel featured just 16 rooms.
Uncle Angelo’s idea was to create a hospitality business that could support the whole family. The hotel was run by Angelo and his sisters: their mother took care of the rooms, while the kitchen was entrusted to a chef from San Lorenzo in Banale who, together with his wife, also managed the dining room service.
In those days, even guests became part of the hotel’s life. Loyalty was incredibly strong: Hotel Angelo became the mountain home for those who didn’t have one of their own. Guests returned year after year. Children grew up together. Adults became “temporary hosts,”preparing aperitifs at the bar, helping behind the counter, or organizing excursions, picnics and barbecues. A family hotel in every sense of the word.
Uncle Angelo personally managed the hotel until 1999, the year of the first expansion, which doubled the number of rooms.
A small number of rooms, an intimate atmosphere and one simple yet powerful idea: making every guest feel at home. This is our philosophy.
Whether you are an outdoor lover, a sports enthusiast, someone looking for relaxation, or a family travelling with children, our goal is to help you enjoy a truly relaxing holiday and to offer personalised advice to plan your days.
Here you won’t just find a hotel you’ll find a family ready to welcome you with a smile, to share with you the magic of the Dolomites, their local products, rich culinary traditions and, above all, a deep respect for the nature that surrounds us.
We want you to feel part of a story made of warmth, tradition and love for Andalo.
A philosophy that has also been recognised by Tripadvisor with the Travellers’ Choice Award, a certificate of excellence given to properties that consistently deliver outstanding hospitality.
At Hotel Angelo, you can feel the warmth of a family and a passion for hospitality that has been passed down through generations.
In 2001, the hotel was entrusted to Antonella, Angelo’s niece. With a lifetime dedicated to management and administration, “Anto,” as we affectionately call her, doubled the size of the hotel without ever betraying its family soul.
From 2019 onwards, thanks to her modern and forward-looking vision, Hotel Angelo began a new phase of renewal: the hotel joined the Andalo For Family club and evolved into an even more welcoming place, perfect for families seeking authenticity and comfort.
Today, the story continues with Gioele, Antonella’s son and the artistic soul of the family. Born in 1999, Gioele brings creativity and fresh energy to the hotel, working alongside his mother with passion and dedication. With his refined aesthetic sense and love for music, he helps guide the hotel towards an ever more attentive, guest-focused style of hospitality.
Antonella (Anto to friends), born in 1974, is the face of the second generation of family management at Hotel Angelo.
From a very young age, she worked alongside Uncle Angelo, actively helping in the daily life of the hotel: at the bar, as a runner, serving breakfasts. From him, she learned the joy of meeting people and building relationships.
By performing every role room service, dining room assistant, end of season cleaning, administrative support she learned what it truly means to be a hotelier.
Born in 1999, Gioele Antonella’s son represents the third generation of hoteliers at Hotel Angelo and is our Family Coach.
With a strong focus on sustainability, he is passionate about innovation and product development. A true expert of the local woods and the unique features of the area, he is the hotel’s go-to person whenever guests are looking for advice on what to do: hikes, outdoor activities, trekking routes and bike experiences.
He is currently attending a Level 1 sommelier course but if you need advice on a good bottle of wine… feel free to ask him already.
